| carry on meaningful conversations with
members and prospects without being interrupted by some
person or event that needs attention. As we put a close on '96, and in order to stay focused, it is important to state, in writing, our purpose for being and to present a mission statement; after thinking long and hard, I decided to lift this statement from Article 1, Section 2 of the CLC, Inc., Constitution. No matter what I wrote I couldn't top it, Here goes "The purpose for which the club is founded are: for the development, publication and exchange of information pertaining to recognized Cadillacs and LaSalles; to encourage the maintenance, preservation and restoration of all Cadillacs and LaSalles;. . . and to promote social fellowship among the club members." Our Cadillacs and LaSalles are about beauty, romance and poetry. If we lose sight of this, the magic will be gone. Speaking of Fellowship Right now, we're jes po' folk but we'll still have a good time at the historic Ale House, where we have rented the entire second floor for our party. See the information/tear sheet for details. Everyone will want to turn out for this party, especially in light of the door prizes provided by Honest John Faust and the North Texas Region CLC. |
Gifts to be given away will be gold
Cadillac keys, a Coupe de Ville Dr. street sign and a
possible raffle for the Clark St. plant brick. We will start selling tickets for a blue neon
Cadillac Showroom Clock which will be raffled off several
months from now. This clock is glass and aluminum and was
standard equipment in Cadillac showrooms from the '30s
through the '50s. Truly a remarkable replica. Ticket cost
schedule follows: The retail value of the clock is $300. Concluding, let me again thank Neil Bland for his support of our club. He's a great guy who runs a first class operation. Let me return the same compliment he paid to me by saying, "You must have Cadillac tattooed on your shorts. Officers |
