Law The Gulf Coast Regional Cadillac/LaSalle Club in conjunction with the Model A Club (of which Bill Coleman is a member) and the Early Ford V-8 Club will have a program on the above captioned topic on Monday, Feb. 17, at the Luby's Cafeteria on 10314 East Freeway (East Highway I-10). We will eat between 6:30 and 7 p.m. with the presentation beginning at 7 p.m. and possibly lasting as late as 8:30 p.m. This presentation will be given by Mr. Bill Dobson, Houston Regional Manager of the Texas Division of Motor Vehicles. We will be getting valuable information from an authoritative source as opposed to a front line clerk more interested in hollering, "NEXT" than clarifying issues that could get us into trouble with the boys and girls in blue. He'll also cover stuff like the history and types of license plates (there's something for everyone - from Pearl Harbor Survivor to Fertilizer Truck). Here's a preliminary list of topics to be discussed:
A Q&A period will follow the presentation. Regarding directions - if you are driving East on I-10, take the Mercury Dr. exit just past the Budweiser Brewery, which is the first exit outside 610. Ph.# 671-9864. Step right up! Come one! Come all ! |
Compliance, the Club and You Jay Ann Edmunds, Membership Secretary for the CLC, Inc., sent me information relating to national dues being renewed February 28 for ALL members. For the months between the old renewal date and February 28, a prorated dues schedule will be in effect. For each succeeding year, the regular rates apply. This schedule will be published in the Self Starter and sent with each renewal as it comes due. This will work in tandem with Gulf Coast Region
dues, and just exactly how we implement it at the local
level will be a topic of discussion at our next meeting.
The reasons for doing this are twofold: Ms. Edmunds also included a roster of members that, according to CLC, Inc., comprise the region known as the Gulf Coast - it is long. GOOD. However, some regional members are not on it. BAD. We live in a busy world, and it's reasonable to assume that this requirement slipped the mind. If you're in doubt as to whether you're a national member, please call me as soon as convenient. |
